A versatile casting epoxy that can be cast in thin or thick layers! Perfect for river tables and larger projects, but also works well in smaller projects, so whether you want to make art, shaft blanks, jewelry, turning blanks, cast flowers, coins or other creative projects, you have the epoxy you need.

Casting thickness up to 100mm!*

This is what you need to know:
  • Crystal clear
  • Low viscosity - Bubbles come out on their own! No vacuum chamber needed
  • For casting and laminating
  • Virtually odorless
  • Good UV protection
  • Can be used with "all" types of color additives
  • 72 hours curing time
  • Ideal temperature for mixing and processing 23-25 degrees, but also works colder and warmer, but temperature affects viscosity and curing time.
  • Withstands high heat in the hardened state. Over 100 degrees.
  • When applying multiple layers, the next layer should be applied when the previous layer is hard but slightly sticky, often after 48 hours but depends on the casting volume, temperature and humidity, so check earlier.

Mixing ratio 3:1 Resin : Hardener by weight
(2.59:1 by volume)

Is the size you need out of stock? You can use Entropy CCR with slow hardener instead.

Sold as a complete set, the number of liters is the total (resin + hardener)

XCAST is a slow-curing resin that is easy to use. The long curing time helps to remove unwanted air bubbles. X-CAST is perfect for use with wood, casting riverbeds, etc. where a thick cast is needed. Can also be cast in silicone molds and works well in combination with wood, metal, concrete, granite, stainless steel, laminate, formica, bamboo, leather, ceramic, fiberglass, plastic, etc.

*: Depends on temperature, humidity, total amount of epoxy. When epoxy hardens it gives off heat. When you cast thickly, the heat can develop faster than it can dissipate to the surroundings. Increased temperature increases the speed of the reaction, which in turn gives off more heat. This means that when large amounts of epoxy are used in thick layers, it is especially important to ensure temperature control. Above 50mm thickness, a fan is recommended to ensure air circulation that cools the epoxy.

SAFE USE

The following section applies generally to all types of epoxy, not just those we sell. Always familiarize yourself with the material safety data sheet of the product you are going to use. All epoxy is inherently hazardous to health in its uncured state, but can be used safely if treated with respect, remember Storbua's epoxyvet rules :
  1. Keep in a ventilated room where the air is changed frequently or has an exhaust fan, and where any spills can be controlled and unauthorized persons cannot come into contact with the product or product residues.
  2. If the work area is not adequately ventilated, wear a mask with an organic filter to be safe.
  3. Protect all parts of the body from contact with resin and hardener (skin, hair, eyes, etc.)
  4. After completion work, wash the surfaces that have been touched, including the cured product. Feel free to use acetone or alcohol to remove any uncured epoxy. Wet wipes can also be useful for wiping surfaces.
  5. Always wear a mask when sanding and other processing.

If you follow these 5 rules, most of the work is done, and you can use most epoxy systems safely! Happy casting!

Epoxy resin

Epoxy i dreie-emner
