This is West Systems' popular 105 Resin, choose between 206 Slow cure and 205 Standard cure, primarily designed for applications where high strength and moisture resistance are important. This is used, among other things, to repair fiberglass boat hulls, and the epoxy is well suited for both bonding and filling, as well as the production of composites such as micarta and carbon fiber.
Mixing ratio 5:1 by weight (Remember to purchase pump kit for correct mixing ratio)
Info 206 Slow hardener
- Working time 20-30 min
- Curing to solid state at approx. 21 degrees: 9-12 hours
- Curing to maximum strength at approximately 21 degrees: 2-3 days
- Working temperature: 16-26 degrees Celsius
Info 205 Standard hardener:
- Working time approx. 10-15 min.
- Curing to solid state at approx. 21 degrees: 5-7 hours
- Curing to maximum strength at approximately 21 degrees: 2-3 days
- Working temperature: 5-26 degrees Celsius
Consumption per square meter is from 200-400g epoxy depending on the absorption capacity of what is to be laminated, where carbon fiber is in the lower layer, and e.g. denim fabrics will have somewhat higher requirements. For bonding solid parts it is considerably lower.
Feel free to use dosing pumps for easy and accurate dosing. One press on each gives the correct mixing ratio.
