G10 Pin
Tax included.
These are sticks that are intended to be used to attach handles to full-tang knives, but can be used for many things! For example, as axles. They are glued in the usual way with gflex epoxy glue .
Purpose
The main purpose of G10 pins is the colors, the strength and that they are much closer to the hardness of the shaft material than metal pins, which makes it easier to grind the shaft and pins evenly for a smooth surface without the pins sticking out of the shaft.
The difference between different fiber pins
There are two main ways to make G10 and carbon fiber pins. One method is poltrusion, where the fibers end up in the longitudinal direction, and the other way is to make G10 in the usual way by laminating glass fiber cloths with resin into plates, which are then split up and turned into pins. Those that are turned have much greater shear strength which makes them more solid and better suited to the task of holding the knife handle in place and ensuring a strong knife handle.
Size
Stated size is 6x150mm. (The rods are in practice a few millimeters longer, but at one end there is a hole which means that the real length is 150mm.)
