Create your own version of the Casströms No. 14! A longer and more powerful blade, ready to conquer the forest. Designed to handle the toughest tasks nature can throw at you. Built for rugged outdoor use. This knife blade is the perfect starting point for creating a proper camp knife that can be your companion in bushcrafting, survival training and hunting, with impeccable performance every time.
Note: This is just the blade, not the shaft and scabbard.
With the renowned A8Mod steel, chosen for its exceptional toughness, and the robust full tang design, you know you have a tool that can do everything from fine nailing to splitting wood. If you want to use the knife primarily for chopping, it is recommended to sharpen a tiny secondary edge to reduce the risk of damage to the edge, as it is now sharpened for the highest sharpness.
Total length: 260 mm
Blade length: 142 mm
Thickness: approx. 4.4 mm
Weight: about 150 g
Grinding: Scandi grind
Steel: A8 Mod with cryo quench
Hardness: 58-59 HRC
Surface: satin finish, laser engraved logo
Rivet holes: X mm (x2),
Cord hole: X mm (x1)
Suitable Corby screws
All Casström knives are cryogenically hardened. Cryogenic hardening is a treatment process where the steel is cooled to very low temperatures using liquid nitrogen. This improves the steel's performance at a molecular level and in practice gives the blade greater resistance to wear and makes it less prone to chipping compared to a blade of the same hardness that was not cryogenically hardened.
See pictures of Casstrom's own versions with birch and bog oak, respectively.
